- Written for British monarch coronations. It was first intended for the coronation of Edward VIII in 1973.
- However, Edward abdicated before his coronation.
- First used during the coronation of King George VI in 1937.
- Used again for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
- Played during the end of the wedding service of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in 2011.
